Interesting post you’ve made here.

I’d like to add that a tactic I found to be very effective is to publish a free ‘leaked chapter’ of the eBook itself.

I setup the website and integrated things into Twitter too, so that I have a steady flow of traffic/visitors to the website where I have the eBook itself.

Now, I don’t want to blatantly auto-promote myself and my work, but if you will allow this link here, I believe it would be a valid example and a nice tip for your readers too…
The link does not go to my website directly (so folks, nothing to buy from me, he, he…) but to the actual site that allowed me to get this kind of free exposure first hand:

In any case, the ‘leaked chapter’ free read is worth your time.

Back to the topics once again, to answer your visitor Elaine up there…

You should not worry for affiliates wanting 50% or even more (ClickBank allows you 75% max) as in fact, if they find it interesting to promote, your ‘production costs’ will be easily topped by the sales of the first few copies and all the rest will come as pure profit,
BUT
more important, you will get free traffic from the affiliate’s promotions (this is invaluable!)

On the other hand there are many other ways to sell it, through other websites similar with CB, like PayDotCom for instance, or by using a self hosted php script like RAP, or even using a dedicated shopping cart service that includes also webhosting, autoresponder, etc…

The first thought you should have though is to answer the question:
“Would people have an interest in this content?”

If you did your diligent research before starting to write it… you’ll have a winner!
